Letters to Santa

Kathleen has been praying every day for snow. She finally got her wish and we got a handful on Monday. She was so excited that she got her morning chores done really fast so she could go play in the snow before school. We finally decided to leave for the bus stop 5 minutes early so they could have snowball fights along the way. Monday night when Kathleen prayed, she said, "You are the bestest, bestest God in Heaven." I guess she was pretty happy about how the morning went. Lately every day after Kathleen leaves for school, Brandon pulls out her piano books and practices (for at least half an hour). It is pretty cute. I think he is going to teach himself to play. He is getting pretty good.
We wrote our letters to Santa this week (finally). The kids cut up magazines and glue pictures on paper. Here is Kathleen's:

Kathleen made the cycle of butterflies at school.
Making Christmas goodies. We are learning how difficult it is to let everyone know we care about them at this time of year. We are discovering that between the 5 of us, we know and care about a LOT of people. It was really hard to keep Christmas goodie plates to a reasonable number this year. We finally decided to just give them to people we have served with or who have served our family in church this year. Sorry friends, nothing for you this year. Maybe next year.

Looks like you have been busy! I am still trying to decide what to do for neighbors/friends this year. I am just not a baker.
