For Kathleen's birthday, she got a bunch of dress-up clothes. She and Brandon had a great time dressing up (with the help of daddy).
I wanted to take a picture of Cody at one week old. But Kathleen wanted to get in the picture and I thought that was so cute too.
If you want a glimpse of how Cody must have looked in the womb, all you have to do is watch how he sleeps.

Grammy (Ryan's mom) came and took such good care of us while she was here. She didn't think she did much, but she did more than she knows. She was up in the night with the baby and took the baby so I could nap during the day. She kept the kids entertained so they weren't too destructive. She made frozen dinners for us for after she left. She cooked while she was here. She cleaned our house. The list could go on and on. Thank you Grammy! Cody was smiling in his sleep. I kind of missed the smile and got him on the way down.

Our camera is having problems (good timing, eh?) and we can't get the pictures off of it. So I am sorry that I don't have anything more recent than Wednesday. But I will put up Cody's one week pictures as soon as I can.

Our baby boy was born today. We named him Cody Ryan Spear. Here's one of his first pictures with Mommy.

Today was Kathleen's birthday party. She got a princess dress. She loves to dress up and we took a picture. Here she is blowing out her four candles on her four cupcakes.
Brandon had fun shooting himself in the mouth with a water gun.
These are the girls that did the party (one had to go home). They were so great. They did absolutely everything. Clean up and all.
Kathleen loved decorating cupcakes.
Sunday at church, Kathleen was the spotlight child for the first time in primary. They tell stuff about a kid and you have to guess who it is. She was so cute.
The kids had a lot of fun playing a game about their favorite animals.
They also went on a treasure hunt for toys and candy.
They made face masks of animals out of paper plates.
Kathleen calls these girls her "big friends." But her best friend is a girl named Jill. She will pick Jill to babysit whenever given the chance. But Jill was going out of town and missed Kathleen's party. So she stopped by and brought Kathleen a gift. She is so sweet. Kathleen always wants curly hair just like "my big friend Jill."

Happy Birthday Kathleen. Here she is waking up and coming down the stairs on her special day.She loves opening presents, although we had to explain to her that these gifts were from mom, dad, and Brandon, not Santa.


She picked pink cupcakes with pink frosting and was really surprised when we pulled out M&Ms to put on top.
Some fun facts about Kathleen:
-Her favorite thing to call people is "Silly" and she will often say, "Don't be silly," or "Silly, silly mom," or dad or Brandon.
-She decided that when she is older she is going to leave our house. When I asked her what she was going to do when she left, she said, "I am going to be a dentist." And she has been brushing mom's teeth every day for a while now.
-Kathleen has been teaching herself to swim. It is the funniest thing. She spends her time at the pool (which we go to every day) completely under water. She likes to swim along the large steps. But now she is venturing into deep water, which makes mom nervous. I can't believe how good she is at swimming all by herself.

Our little boy is growing up so fast. He has these Batman pajamas that he just loves. The problem is that they are all he wants to wear anymore. But they are 2 sizes too small. So we finally found some Spiderman pajamas and he was pretty happy with the trade, although we promised we would continue the hunt for some more Batman ones.



For anyone who doesn't know, our daughter is turning 4 on Sunday. Can you believe it? We have a 4-year-old. Man we are getting old. We decided to let her open cards and gifts as she gets them because they are so much more novel and exciting to her thay way. Today she got a gift from Grandma and Grandpa Plumb and their kids at home (and a special gift from just Kaylee). It was the greatest day ever for her to get a box in the mail just for her.



And as for an update for those wondering, no new baby yet. Just waiting out the Labor storm.

I realized that when Ryan added the last blog, I never went back and put the rest of our 4th of July pictures on. So here they are.The kids LOVED the pop-its. They had so much fun. Of course, they didn't always pop, so then the kids would go and find the ones that didn't and throw them again. It was a lot of fun.
The flowers were the favorite for the kids because they weren't as scary as some of the other fireworks.
We woke them up in the middle of their night for more fireworks, and they were a little scared of all the noise. So we put them back to bed. All in all it was a fun 4th.

I purchased a birthday party for Kathleen from some of the youth in our ward. They were trying to earn money for camp. These girls are so cute and so excited for this birthday party for Kathleen. Here are the invitations they made. Aren't they cute?
