Kathleen's Crazy Week

Kathleen bumped into a kid on the playground and came home with a gash in her forehead. The poor girl was so brave. It happened at about 10:30, but by the time I actually talked to the nurse (we kept missing each other), it was noon and she was getting ready to head home. When she saw me as she got off the bus, she started crying and ran toward me as fast as she could. It was so sad. She had blead through her bandages and was really upset about it all. But we doctored her up again and she was happy once more. But the day before this happened, a special needs kid in her class choked her from behind. She still has bruising on her neck from it. It was a rough couple of days for our Kathleen.
But her first month of school, and the teddy bear unit, are now complete. Look at all her wonderful bear artwork.
Then, she decided to test out some of her skills on her bedroom wall. Naughty girl!
Every year, Idaho has a fitness run for women. I usually get together with some friends and walk it. But this year I decided to run it. It is a 5K (3.1 mile) run.

Look at all our pumpkins! 13 in total. Pretty exciting. I am guessing we won't carve them all.
Cody lately loves putting hats on his head. He never wears them long. Here he has the raison lid on his head.
And here, he dumped out his food (and threw it on the floor) and put his bowl on his head.

Cody's First Step

Guess who finally decided to take a step today. That's right, Cody. He will be 14 months old on the 21st (a month older that both Kathleen and Brandon were). He has been flirting with the idea for sometime, but never quite took that step, no matter what mom or dad did to encourage him. But today, mom figured it out. What does our Cody like more than anything else in the world? That's right, food. Notice a cookie in each hand. If you hold a cookie just out of reach, he will step right to it. The best thing ever!
To celebrate, we made "sticky" popcorn and watched a movie.
This week we decided to pick our pumpkins. Guess how many we found. 13! And they are large pumpkins. I guess I should learn how to make pumpkin pie.

Spear Family Fun

Ryan and I went on a date last night. While we were out we decided to stop and get our pictures taken. Luckily he is a lot cuter than I am. Ryan decided to educate our kids in the way of stars. He taught them about the Big Dipper, made up a story to got along with it, then took this kids out with their star charts to look at it.
Another school outfit. I don't know how we decide to take pictures of the outfits we do. It is pretty random.
I got my hairs cut this week (yes hairs). Brandon really wanted to take a picture of it, so here it is.
So then I took a picture of Brandon.

Kathleen started dance class last week, but I didn't take any pictures. So this is from this Thursday.
Ryan didn't approve of Brandon's hair pictures, so he had to take some of his own. He made me stand in a corner.

Kathleen loves to play on the computer. She wanted us to take a picture of her since we were taking some of mom.

Cody got to have milkshakes for the first time this week. He took a minute to get it into the straw, but once he did, it was pure heaven. Look at that face.

With three kids, bedtime can take a while. So now they all get in mom and dad's bed for story time instead of individual time. But they love it even more. They take turns sitting on each side of the bed. Ryan is such a cute dad.

Soccer Monster

Guess who started soccer today. That's right! Brandon. You are so smart. I missed it because I was teaching a class at super Saturday at our church. But his dad did a very good job taking pictures for you and me both. So, without further ado:



Isn't he super cute? He even came to the church after to show mom his new soccer uniform. He was so excited. I love that boy.

Thank Goodness For Blog!

Cody ate with a fork Thursday for the first time. I guess he is just my baby, so I have never given him a fork (or spoon) before. He ate like a pro. First thing, he stuck it into the macaroni and cheese, then put a huge fork full into his mouth like he knew what to do all along.

So why thank goodness for blog? Well, it is quite simple. We were working on Cody's baby book and getting it all updated. There is a page of "firsts" like first step, etc. Well, we couldn't remember a lot of them. So we got on our blog to find the dates of his first time rolling over, first time crawling, etc. Then when we compared to Kathleen's baby book, we had not only the date she did those things, but the time down to the precise minute. SO: thank goodness for Blogs, so we know those dates for the children that aren't our first.

Labor Day Weekend

Now that Kathleen is in school, he and Kathleen are starting to get along better. After she got home from school one day, I found them snuggling on the couch. And of course, Cody had to join in.
Jared, Heidi, and Xander came to visit for the weekend. Brandon and Xander loved jumping on the couch together. Of course, it was impossible to get a picture of the both of them.
Cody warmed up to Heidi. He couldn't get enough of her. It was pretty cute.
The three boys were pretty cute playing together.
We had fun at the park.

Jared works for Disney, so we all went to the disney store and bought matching shirts with his discount. Aren't we cute?

Cody loves to push chairs around and walk. While he has yet to take a step independently, he sure can get around.
