We went on a "Spear Family Vacation" to the lake. But before we could go, the boys got matching haircuts. And by matching, I mean super-short.
A lot of people have asked me where Lake Roosevelt is, so here you go. It is in the middle of Washington, close to Spokane.

There was a hill we had to hike down to get to the lake. It was, as Jon accurately describes, "5 minutes downhill, 35 minutes uphill."

Uncle Josh does drip castles that are awesome. Ryan decided to add a lake to the inside that eventually resulted in a cave-in.

We played
woofell ball every day. It was so fun.

Cody would play in the sand for hours without making a peep. He loved it.
There was this little area when we got there that gave Cody a great shady place to play.
Kathleen LOVED the wave runner and would hitch a ride with whoever would take her. A side story just for Grandpa Brad: When Kathleen and her mom went for a ride, mom's hat flew off. So she held Kathleen's hand while Kathleen hung over the edge and grabbed the hat. Then she yelled, "mom, now I have a great story to tell dad when we get back." I guess life is all about stories, eh?
We made a campfire one night and made
s'mores. Notice the sheet hanging in the background? We also watched movies with a projector. Fun fun.
Brandon mostly beat up on poor uncle Jon. But on occasion, Jon got snuggles too.
Tanner and Kathleen loved tubing. Kathleen was a tubing freak and always wanted to go faster and harder. She is crazy.

If you look closely, you can see Brandon just hit the ball. What a picture. That kid has an amazing arm.
We finally got the little kids to water ski behind the wave runner on the ski-skimmer. How many men does it take to get a kid on the water?

Kathleen spent a lot of time writing in the sand on the beach. And she rarely took off her life jacket. It was new and has
scooby doo on it. When Kathleen found this stick to write in the sand with, she was
extatic.
Brandon loved running on the edge of the water.
And this is the best picture you will get of my attempts at
wakeboarding. I only got up once, and Ryan was driving the boat, so there aren't any pictures of that. And the best picture behind the wave runner was of my backside. So this is what you get.

Uncle Jon took everyone fishing. They didn't catch anything, but had a lot of fun.

Everyone with their new gifts. I got the Wicked soundtrack, Ryan got the complete Grimm Brother's Fairytales. Brandon got cars and an airplane. Kathleen, of course, got a princess doll set, and Cody got a phone and keys that make noise. Fun fun.
Kathleen loves getting pictures of her school outfits each morning. She thinks it is funny to make sassy faces while we take them. It was tempting to upload all the different silly poses.
Today Kathleen brought home her first page of school work. It is ADORABLE. They practiced their names. She put a heart after each one. But notice the bottom name. It is made up of a bunch of little hearts. So cute..jpg)
