Just for Jared

Kathleen did this assignment at school and I just thought Jared would like to see it. It says, "If I were a ladybug I would fly to ________." Kathleen said, "Chinu" which means China. I wonder where she got that from? I can only assume that is the great wall we are looking at.

Earth Day

We made some panoramas in shoe boxes in honor of Earth Day. It was quite a mess and probably took like 2 hours to do (which was fine when they didn't need too much of my help, but that wasn't very much of the project. Though I must say, I had fun too). But it was worth it. The kids had a blast making trees out of toilet paper tubes, clouds out of cotton balls, benches out of popsicle sticks, +picking the perfect rocks out of the yard, and don't forget the millions of stickers used, both puffy and regular.

Cody was so cute sleeping that I had to take a picture. Then Kathleen was sleeping with a Book of Mormon and snuggling the page with the picture of Jesus. Super cute. We find the funnest things when we tuck our kids in after they are sleeping.
For earth day we decided to make a cake. Brown represents the dirt. We decided the Earth's core must be made of cream cheese.
Brandon and Daddy put together this "garden" game. We tried to match seeds with plants, then with produce. It was fun (until I set Cody down to take the picture).
Then we decorated the cake with blue frosting for the water and green for the Earth.

For anyone who doesn't know, Ryan's sister Jessy (after years of trying) finally had a baby a couple months ago. Look at how adorable he is. I think he is one of the cutest little guys ever. We are so happy for them.

Kathleen Lost a Tooth

The kids got in trouble so daddy separated them and put them on bar stools in the family room. Of course, when mom went to take a picture, Kathleen went from grumpy to all smiles for the camera.

Ryan came home from work one day and brought me flowers. He reminded me (because of course, I never remember) that it was the day we met. Kathleen took this picture of me.

Thursday was a big day for Kathleen because she lost her first tooth. She was going down the slide at McDonald's and out it came. We went with some friends and when Michelle asked Kathleen if she was excited for the tooth fairy to come, Kathleen said, "Yes, but I am the most excited for a new BIG tooth to come in."

Just for fun we made strawberry shortcake this weekend.

During conference yesterday we wrapped the kids like burritos in hopes that they would hold still for a bit. Yeah, didn't work. But they sure liked it.

And yesterday between session, we went to the park and drew chalk people (by tracing ourselves) and turned them into baseball players. So of course, today we had to actually play baseball. It was SUPER fun.
